Winter Texan capital, empty-home summers

Alamo's identity is half seasonal — the RV resorts and park-model communities that fill every winter and empty every May. A park model closed up for six Valley summer months is a pest incubator: crazy ants colonize the AC, wasps build under the skirting, and roaches inherit the kitchen. Our seasonal-home service runs exterior quarterly visits through the summer with a photo note after each one, so the welcome-back walkthrough in October is a non-event. It's the cheapest insurance a winter Texan can buy short of a good neighbor with a key — and we're happy to coordinate with that neighbor too.

Living next to a wildlife refuge

Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge is Alamo's treasure — 2,000+ acres of subtropical forest and resacas that draw birders from around the world. It also means south-Alamo homes live beside permanent, protected mosquito habitat. You can't (and shouldn't) treat the refuge; you can absolutely make your own yard a dead end. A barrier-and-larvicide program focused on your lot's resting and breeding spots makes an honest, noticeable difference even a half mile from the resacas — that's not marketing, it's how container-breeding mosquitoes work. What we won't do is promise a mosquito-free acre bordering the refuge; nobody can deliver that.

The older blocks and country lots

Between the resorts and the refuge, Alamo's year-round neighborhoods carry standard Upper Valley pressure: subterranean termites in the older slabs near the original townsite, roof rats anywhere citrus and palms line the yard, and fire ants on the acre lots toward the north side. Quarterly service covers the baseline; the free inspection tells you if your particular house needs more than baseline.
